- Question: The image upload window sometimes doesn't display any content at all. I usually have to log out and log in to be able to view the content/images. Is this a common issue or there are some settings which can fix this? Answer: This has to do with folder permissions. Typically we create a number of pages and title them, and then go back and add content. The page must be saved to your account before you can view your content folders, ie you can't place or upload content, until the page has been saved within your account.
- Question: What is the most preferable size of an image (both dimension and file size)? I tried a 900 X 650 image without text and it takes time to load while playing the course. Answer: 72 DPI, 900 pixels wide is normally the max size to include due to the size of the template. JPEGs are normally best. I used the attached image which is about as large as will fit in our template and it snapped into the page about as fast as possible. Images should be optimized for their application.
- Question: If I am re-creating a course, and adding my own company credits page in the end of the lesson, the resultant page with the learners certificate does not appear. The lesson does not move to completion status even if I select the page type as conclusion. Please suggest the correct procedure. Answer: The Conclusion and Acknowledgment Training Section concludes the training. Having two such pages, as in your example, will cause the training to end early, and depending on your status, may cause an error.
- Question: When we add flash (swf) videos in a page, its dimension gets a bit small. Do you have a suggestion on what dimension should we specify for a flash upload? Answer: When you insert the Flash file you have the option to select the size. You should select any size you would like. When you inserted it maybe you just clicked OK without noticing the sizing???? The easiest way to delete something out of the Design tab is to actually select the HTML tab in the lower left of the page editor. Deleting all of the HTML out of the page is a way to make sure you deleted everything. Since that Flash example looks like someone attempted to do some editing within the page, I would just start over, by deleting the HTML out of the page and adding the Flash file back in in the size that you would prefer. Notice I made a page, the following page, where I sized the file at 650 pixels wide.
- Question: How many custom courses can I create in the HRClassroom portal? Answer: No limit.
- Question: What is the ideal dimension of any image or flash (swf) video to be uploaded? Answer: Again, whatever fits in the template on your training display template. I try to stick to 950 pixels wide for a maximum size, and convert my images to JPEGs at 72 DPI before placing in the system. The answer is flexible since we use different templates. 950 is not the max, however, that is the maximum I recommend for your template.
